The String shelving system was designed by Swedish architect and designer Nils Strinning in 1949. There are many reasons why String and String Plex have been popular for over 50 years. One is that they’re so practical. The structure is light weight, yet stable. The side panels are simple to mount and the shelves are easy to move around. You can combine shelves of different depths in the same unit and the frame functions as a book-end. String and String Plex are equally suited to a large or small wall.
Woodnotes is a Finnish design company founded in 1987. The Woodnotes products, designed by Ritva Puotila, take their inspiration from Finland’s rugged nature. The products are made using advanced technologies as well as Finnish raw materials: wood and paper. Woodnotes became known especially for their creative use of the allergy friendly paper yarn in carpets and blinds. The Woodnotes collection has expanded over the years from the paper yarn carpets to a comprehensive concept. It is augmented every year with new and innovative products.
