Artek Reimagined by Paul Smith: Edition Two
Paul Smith and Artek continue their partnership with a second reinterpretation of Stool 60

Artek and Paul Smith continue their creative partnership with a new, limited-edition version of the Stool 60. Following the success of last year’s collaboration, which reimagined three Artek classics through the lens of Paul Smith’s distinctive design language, this second edition focuses on Alvar Aalto’s stool.
Stool 60 is central to Artek’s identity. Designed in 1933, its simple, stackable form has become a symbol of functional beauty. In Edition Two, the stool is reinterpreted once again — this time with a new set of colours that reflect Paul Smith’s playful approach to detail and contrast.
The seat retains a natural wood tone, while a bold pillar box red is revealed on the underside. This unexpected detail is inspired by the colourful linings often hidden inside Paul Smith’s tailoring. Each of the three legs is painted in a different shade: sky blue, rust, and British racing green. These colours are drawn from the designer’s Signature Stripe, offering a subtle nod to the original collaboration.
Alongside this new edition, the original Stool 60 from Edition One will also be made available again. Together, the two versions are designed to stack, creating a layered effect that echoes the rhythm of the Signature Stripe. A third edition is planned for release in 2026.
Artek Reimagined by Paul Smith, Edition Two launches in September 2025. It will be available online at paulsmith.com and in selected Paul Smith shops.
