Artek Tokyo

Artek Tokyo is located in the lively area of Omotesando, just off the main pedestrian thoroughfare. Spread over 200 square metres and on two levels, the store brings Finnish and Nordic lifestyle right into the heart of Tokyo. Here, one can discover the beauty for everyday life, with furniture, lighting, and accessories by Artek and like-minded companies.

In designing the space, Japanese architecture office Daikei Mills sought to create a cultural translation of Artek and Alvar Aalto heritage into the Tokyo landscape. The organic shapes and natural materials that are characteristic of Aalto’s designs are reflected in the interior architecture. The warm ambience, frequently changing displays and home and dining settings, inspire visitors. The store’s mission is both commercial and cultural; it will regularly host events and collaborations that celebrate the affinity between Finland and Japan.
