Artek's presense in Milan 2008, A Sense of Sustainability, continued Artek's statement for ethics, aesthetics and ecology. Inspiration for the products introduced in Milan was Alvar Aalto's Paimio Sanatorium, whose harmonious and fresh palette created a distinct platform for product development.

In 2008 Artek celebrated the 75-year-old Stool 60 that symbolises the originality and sustainability of Artek products. In Milan, an installation of 750 stools payed tribute to this design icon.
