Artek, the flagship of Finnish furniture and design industries, is vigorously establishing itself in the European market. Qubique marked the company’s German debut. The year 2012 will see the founding of a German subsidiary, with the centre of operations to be established in Berlin.

Artek collaborates with Staatsgalerie Stuttgart

In recognition of the work of the British architect, Yale School of Architecture professor and Alvar Aalto laureate, from October 1, 2011 to January 15, 2012, the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart will present the “James Frazer Stirling – Notes from the Archive. Krise der Moderne“ exhibition. Complementing the exhibition, the museum will also show furniture by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, which is produced and distributed by Artek.

Artek to launch a new 2nd Cycle store in the heart of Helsinki

On 15 October 2011, Artek will celebrate its 76th anniversary by opening a new store in Helsinki, Artek 2nd Cycle. The Manifesto of Artek which sets out the firm’s philosophy, was written when the company was founded. Artek’s far-sighted founders created the foundation for an ideology in which sustainable development joins hands with enlightened consumerism. The original goals and values are still very much part of Artek today. The new concept store focuses on 2nd Cycle and vintage products.
